Buttermilk Powder Biscuits *

Buttermilk Powder
Salt
Soda**
Cream of Tartar
Shortening
Milk
Cut shortening into the dry, then mix in milk.
Knead a few times to get to a ball shape
Pat out on lightly floured board to inch thick or so.
Cut with sharp cutter, push down then turn.

Bake 400 for 15 minutes.



*      add one whipped egg white for shortcake

**    4 tsp Baking Powder can be a replacement

***   May take another 1/2 cup, if it does not shape into a ball, add more.
         Water can be used for milk, not as rich, but make sure the powder is
           added to the flour.
 
For a change, dust the top with honey powder before baking.
