Filled Sugar Cookies
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Butter
3 TBL Milk
1 tsp Vanilla
1 Egg
3 Cups Flour
1 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Salt
Basic Sugar Cookies-


Blend first 4 items. Blend in balance, mix well.
Chill dough.  Roll dough on floured board 1/3 at a time to 1/8 inch.
Cut with floured cutter. Place on ungreased cookie sheet, one inch apart.
Sprinkle with sugar and 
bake at 400F for 5-8 minutes or until edges are light brown.
Remove from cookie sheet.
For Filled Cookies-  (any jam will work)


Place a teaspoon of filling in each cookie before cooking 
and top with another, press edges to seal.  
Use point of fork to vent the filling.
Bake at 400F for 8-10 minutes or until edges are light brown.
