Tempura Light
 
1 Egg - separated
1/2 CUP Flour
2 TBL Cornstarch
1/4 TSP Salt
1/2 TSP Pepper
1/2 CUP Cold Water (or club soda for lighter batter)

In a small bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.

Mix flour, cornstarch, salt, and pepper.

In another bowl, beat egg yolk and water until frothy and lemon colored.

slowly add flour mix to egg yolk, beat constantly until smooth.

Fold egg whites into yolk/flour blend.

Cook at 375F for five minutes, turn when brown. Total time depends on food coated.
