Orange Pudding

6 Oranges - peeled and sectioned 
1 CUP Sugar
1 QT Milk
3 eggs - separated 
1 TBL Cornstarch
Sugar to taste
Place oranges in a pan and dredge with sugar, let stand one hour.


In a double boiler, Make a custard of milk, eggs, cornstarch, and add sugar to taste.
Stir constantly until thick. Pour over oranges.
Whip egg whites in a copper bowl (or use 1/4 tsp cream of tartar)
  work to a froth, then gradually add 6 TBL Sugar, whip until sugar is dissolved.
Spread over orange custard, Bake at 350F for 15 minutes or browned..
